Abstract

Error-preventing studies are important in business literature. Error costs in the healthcare industry affect human health. Reducing mistakes will not only benefit the health of the individual but also affect the society. This awareness pushes the organizations in the sector to seek error-preventing methods. Six sigma method is a popular method in the field with the results it offers in this direction. In the study, studies in the field of health services were handled with the science mapping technique. It has been tried to determine the status of Six Sigma studies in health services. Bibliometric analyzes such as the year of publication, the tendencies of the authors, the most important inscriptions in the field, and the important journals in the field were made. Three of the most published journals have a Q1 impact rating and a Q2 impact rating. When the publications were examined, it was observed that they were collected in five main dimensions (process, randomized controlled studies, facility management, studies focusing on finding solutions to management and organization problems and specific services provided to the patient). Health policy makers can benefit from the findings of the study.
