Abstract

Aim: This research was conducted to determine the attitudes of male students studying at a state university towards gender equality. Materials-Methods: The research is of cross-sectional-descriptive type. The study was conducted with 373 male students studying at a state university in the spring semester of the 2021-2022 academic year. The data of the study were collected using the "Student Information Form" and "Men's Gender Equality Attitude Scale". SPSS 23.0 package program was used in the analysis of the data. Results: It was determined that the students' total GEMS scores were 36.92±8.79. It was determined that the students' age, the type of high school they graduated from, the place where they lived in childhood, their family's regular income, and their gender equality attitudes were statistically significant. It was determined that there was no statistically significant difference between the education level of the parents and gender equality. Conclusions: It was determined that the gender equality attitudes of the students were moderate.
